Japanese Commercials – Would you buy pizza from MMA fighter Bob Sapp?

This is a pretty messed up commercial any way you slice it. Check out MMA fighter Bob Sapp doin’ his little Pizza La dance with all these cute Japanese girls in the background.

He has some pretty over-the-top facial expressions in this one, and in the end I think he was probably a good choice for the always-wacky Pizza La.

Deadly weapons decked out in Hello Kitty - TOKYOMANGO

KittyRifle

Hello Kitty isn't always cute and innocent — sometimes, she decorates deadly weapons, including rifles and grenades. Some of these are real weapons, by the way, customized by gun-owners — sometimes they're law enforcement personnel who want their wives to enjoy shooting with them. As the officer in this video says: Pink doesn't make it any more deadly than black.

Would love to see a video of this thing being fired!

The iPhone is doing great in Japan - TOKYOMANGO

4195244302_1187066d80_o

Turns out those of us who expressed skepticism about the iPhone's success in Japan were wrong — it's huge here. It's conquered nearly half of Japan's smart phone market, according to this Fast Company article. Someone told me last night that it was 7 out of 10 now. Either way, a combination of great marketing, difficult-to-use Japanese cell phones, and other factors have made the iPhone a big hit, and not just among geeks anymore. Case in point: My brother has one, my dad just got one, and my mom is getting one.

And you thought the iPhone would NOT do well in Japan???
